December 17, 2025—Zimbabwe will host Pakistan and Afghanistan in a tri-nation Under-19 series as part of final preparations for the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026.
The series will serve as a key build-up event ahead of the global tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6. With all three teams set to feature in the World Cup, the tri-series is expected to provide valuable match exposure and competitive rhythm.
The action begins on Christmas Day, December 25, with hosts Zimbabwe facing Afghanistan at Harare Sports Club. Afghanistan will then take on Pakistan at the same venue on December 27.
The tournament moves to Prince Edward School on December 29, where Zimbabwe will play Pakistan, before shifting to Sunrise Sports Club for Zimbabwe’s clash against Afghanistan on December 31. Afghanistan and Pakistan will meet again on January 2 at Sunrise Sports Club.
The final round-robin match will be played on January 4 at Old Hararians Sports Club, featuring Zimbabwe against Pakistan. The same venue will also host the final of the tri-series on January 6.
The competition offers an important opportunity for young players from all three nations to gain experience in local conditions ahead of the World Cup. Zimbabwe and Afghanistan will be aiming for their first-ever Under-19 World Cup title, while Pakistan enter the tournament as two-time champions, having lifted the trophy in 2004 and 2006.
