The Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 has approved Rehaan Ahtif as a replacement for Dylan Thakrar in the Tanzania squad.
Thakrar was ruled out of the tournament after sustaining an injury to his left middle finger during Tanzania’s second Group D match against South Africa, making him unable to continue in the remainder of the event.
Player replacements require formal approval from the Event Technical Committee before being added to the squad. The committee comprises Wasim Khan (Chair, ICC General Manager – Cricket), Sarah Edgar (ICC Senior Manager – Events), Hamilton Masakadza (Zimbabwe Cricket Tournament Director), and Tash Farrant (Independent Nominee).
