April 3, 2024 – Gujarat Titans (GT) registered their second consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by eight wickets on Wednesday night. This victory came after Gujarat suffered a loss in their opening match but made a strong comeback with back-to-back wins.
RCB’s Struggles with the Bat
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, RCB managed to post 169/8 in 20 overs. The team had a rough start, losing four wickets for just 42 runs in 6.2 overs. The chase was anchored by Jos Buttler, who played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 73 off 39 balls, smashing 5 fours and 6 sixes. Sai Sudharsan, who just missed his half-century, contributed 49 runs off 36 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six. Sherfane Rutherford also played a crucial role, staying unbeaten on 30 off 18 balls, ensuring Gujarat’s smooth victory.
