New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy has been approved as a replacement for Ben Sears in the squad for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 after Sears was ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
Duffy, who has played 10 ODIs for New Zealand, has been called up to strengthen the squad ahead of the prestigious tournament. His inclusion was officially sanctioned by the Event Technical Committee, a mandatory step before any player change in the tournament.
The Event Technical Committee for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 includes Wasim Khan, who is the ICC General Manager – Cricket, Sarah Edgar, who is the ICC Interim Head of Events, Usman Wahla, who is the PCB Director – International Cricket Operations, and Shaun Pollock, who is an Independent Representative.
With Duffy’s addition, New Zealand will look to maintain their strength in the pace attack as they gear up for a competitive campaign in the Champions Trophy.
