FIFA has released the bid evaluation reports for the 2030 and 2034 FIFA World Cup editions following a detailed assessment of each proposal. These reports, which will be submitted to the Extraordinary FIFA Congress on December 11, 2024, will help determine the hosts for the prestigious tournaments.
The comprehensive evaluation model used by FIFA considers various factors such as infrastructure, services, commercial potential, event vision, sustainability, and human rights. FIFA’s methodology for this process aligns with the selection criteria employed for previous World Cup and Women’s World Cup host decisions, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 and 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The evaluation reports conclude that the following bids meet and exceed FIFA’s minimum hosting requirements:
2030 FIFA World Cup Joint Bid: Morocco, Portugal, and Spain have submitted a joint bid that meets FIFA’s rigorous standards.
2030 FIFA World Cup Centenary Celebration: Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will host one match each as part of a special centenary celebration, honoring the inaugural 1930 World Cup.
2034 FIFA World Cup Single Bid: Saudi Arabia has submitted a bid to host the 2034 World Cup, and their proposal has successfully exceeded the minimum requirements.
The final decision on the host countries will be made during the Extraordinary FIFA Congress, which will be conducted via video conference.
