5 August 2024. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for the Player of the Month awards for August, showcasing stellar performances from players across Ireland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.

Men’s Nominees:
- Keshav Maharaj (South Africa): Maharaj, a left-arm spinner, is aiming for his second Player of the Month title, having previously won in April 2022. He played a pivotal role in the ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies, taking 13 wickets across two Tests, including a match-winning 4/64 and 5/90 in Port of Spain.

- Jayden Seales (West Indies): The West Indies fast bowler impressed with 12 wickets in the same series, helping him secure a career-best 13th position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings. His nine-wicket haul in Guyana was instrumental in his side’s victory.

Jayden Nigel Tristen Seales, Trinidadian cricketer. - Dunith Wellalage (Sri Lanka): The all-rounder starred in Sri Lanka’s ODI series victory over India, contributing significantly with both bat and ball. Wellalage scored 67*, 39, and 2 across three matches and took seven wickets, including a 5/27 haul in the final match.

Women’s Nominees:
- Harshitha Samarawickrama (Sri Lanka): Samarawickrama’s impressive form continued during Sri Lanka’s tour of Ireland, scoring 151 runs in two T20Is and 172 runs in three ODIs. Her knock of 105 in the second ODI made her only the third Sri Lankan woman to score a century in the format.

- Orla Prendergast (Ireland): Prendergast, a 22-year-old all-rounder, was crucial in Ireland’s 2-1 ODI series win over Sri Lanka. She scored 122* in the first ODI and contributed consistently across both the ODI and T20I formats.

- Gaby Lewis (Ireland): Lewis lit up the T20I series with a remarkable 119 in the second match, the highest individual score for Ireland in the format. Despite a quad injury that cut her tour short, her impact on the series was undeniable.

Voting Process:
The ICC Voting Academy, comprising prominent cricket figures, holds 90% of the voting power, while fans around the world contribute the remaining 10%. Winners will be revealed on the second Monday of the month through ICC’s digital platforms.
