Kathmandu, 27 August 2024. As the countdown to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024™ narrows to just four days, excitement is building for what promises to be a groundbreaking tournament. For the first time in history, 24 nations will compete for the coveted title, underscoring the rapid growth and global reach of women’s football.

FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024™ MATCH SCHEDULE

The competition, which is scheduled for August 31–September 22, 2024, will feature the best young players in the globe as well as potential future stars of the women’s game. In an attempt to emulate the success of international luminaries such as Marta, Alex Morgan, Asisat Oshoala, Salma Paralluelo, Alexandra Popp, and Christine Sinclair—many of whom made their name at this same event—a total of 504 players have been called up by the 24 participating nations.

Colombia, the host nation, is gearing up for its third appearance in the tournament, with hopes of becoming the first team since Germany in 2010 to win the title on home soil. Among their squad is Real Madrid superstar Linda Caicedo, who is set to appear in her second U-20 World Cup. Caicedo’s stellar performances in Costa Rica 2022, where she scored two goals in four matches, and at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™, where she netted twice, including the Goal of the Tournament against Germany, have already made her a player to watch.

This year’s edition will be held across three host cities, Bogotá, Cali, and Medellín, with 52 matches scheduled in four historic stadiums. It marks the third FIFA tournament hosted by Colombia, following the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011™ and the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016™. Notably, it will be the second time the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is organized in the CONMEBOL region, with Chile having hosted the event in 2008.

As anticipation reaches fever pitch, the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024 ™ is set to be a celebration of youth, talent, and the unifying spirit of football.
