The International Cricket Council has confirmed that Doha, Qatar will host the next ICC Board and Committee meetings from 25 to 27 March 2026.
Senior officials including ICC Board Directors, Chief Executives, Committee Members and members of the leadership team will attend the meetings. The gathering is part of the ICC’s regular governance schedule where important decisions about the present and future of international cricket are discussed.
The decision to host the meetings in Doha reflects the ICC’s growing engagement with cricket in Qatar. In recent years, the sport has seen rapid development in the country through close cooperation between the ICC, the Qatar Cricket Association and the Qatar Olympic Committee.
Since 2020, cricket participation in Qatar has increased by 447 percent. Much of this growth has come from school programs and grassroots initiatives aimed at introducing the game to young players.
Cricket’s inclusion in the Qatar Olympic Committee’s School Olympic Programme has helped expand the sport across schools nationwide. The ICC’s Criiio Cricket Festivals have also played a key role. In the most recent edition, 287 school teams participated and nearly 90 percent of the players were new to the sport.
ICC officials believe Qatar’s progress shows how investment in grassroots cricket can help the game grow in emerging markets. Hosting the Board and Committee meetings is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the ICC and cricket authorities in Qatar.
The March 2026 meetings in Doha are seen as another step in Qatar’s growing involvement in international cricket.
