December 17, 2025 —Australia have confirmed their playing XI for the third Ashes Test against England at the Adelaide Oval, making two changes as they look to seal the series.
Captain Pat Cummins and veteran spinner Nathan Lyon return to the side, replacing Michael Neser and Brendan Doggett. The changes strengthen Australia’s bowling attack for the pink-ball Test, with the hosts holding a 2–0 lead in the five-match series.
Experienced opener Usman Khawaja remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from a back concern. Josh Inglis retains his place in the XI and will bat at No.7, while the rest of the batting line-up remains unchanged.
England have also announced their XI for the Adelaide Test, making one change by bringing in Josh Tongue in place of Gus Atkinson.
The match will mark Cummins’ return to Test cricket after missing the first two games of the series. Australia are aiming to maintain momentum in the ICC World Test Championship contest and complete a series win on home soil.
